Standard & Poor’s is, quite simply, the biggest credit rating agency in the world. S&P is involved in millions of transactions and financing requests every year, and with that level of prevalence comes scrutiny. Recently, S&P has come under fire for its alleged role in the United States sub-prime mortgage crisis, and according to The Guardian in the UK, this in part led to the resignation of Kathleen Corbet, S&P’s President.
“Standard & Poor’s, which has faced strong criticism for its role in the US sub-prime crisis, has announced the resignation of its presidentKathleen Corbet, president of the world’s biggest credit rating agency, has stepped down and will be replaced by Deven Sharma, executive vice president for investment services and global sales.A spokesman for S&P parent McGraw-Hill said Ms Corbet was leaving to spend more time with her family and insisted her departure was not related to the turbulence in global credit markets.”
This is just your basic fallout from the struggling credit market. If you would like to have your credit repaired, contact the credit repair attorneys at Smith & Garg immediately to schedule a consultation.
