Prominent CEO Sees US Credit Woes as Regional in Nature

September 27th, 2007 · No Comments

The national financial news has been dominated lately with stories regarding the sub-prime mortgage crisis and the general credit crunch, but the CEO of Lowe’s, one of the leading self-improvement suppliers in the world, offered an interesting take on the situation recently as reported by CNN Money.

“Chairman and Chief Executive Robert Niblock said Tuesday he shares concerns about the broader potential effects from housing market weakness and tighter credit, even though most of the hits to Lowe’s so far have been regional.

“We share the concern that a severe contraction and the availability of consumer credit has the ability to affect home-improvement consumers on a national scale,” Niblock said during an analyst meeting that was broadcast on the Internet. But as executives monitor current performance, he said, “We see profoundly disproportionate impacts in those areas most stretched” by housing market troubles.”

Niblock has a point, but regardless of where you live and how your housing market has been affected by this situation, everyone needs to make sure that they’re maximizing their creditworthiness.  If you’d like to repair or improve your credit score, contact the credit repair attorneys at Smith & Garg immediately to schedule an initial consultation.
